ABOUT CAITLIN
I’ve been in this field since 2009 and have always loved meeting and talking with people, getting to the root of things. I’m more playful than serious, more inquisitive rather than let stuff go, and guiding with you taking the lead. I work with clients in a collaborative process to peel back the layers of the onion. I also identify as a secular therapist and will not imbue our work with any religious or spiritual beliefs. My specialties are in anxiety disorders, childhood trauma, and
I am a licensed counselor living and working in Boulder, Colorado. Before Boulder, I was located in NYC for over ten years - I still have that East Coast bluntness and sarcasm which takes me a long way.
I earned my Master’s Degree from Pratt Institute (NYC) in 2011 in Art Therapy and Creativity Development and have had my license as a Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT, 001704) since 2013. I still provide virtual therapy for NY-Based clients and accept Cigna insurance.
I also have my LPCC (Licensed Professional Counselor candidate) since moving to Colorado in 2021 and work here virtually and in-person with clients.
I have worked in hospital, school, and outpatient mental health settings prior to pursuing and opening a private practice. I integrate a variety of modalities including art therapy (materials-based processing of experiences), talk psychotherapy, attachment theory, and cognitive behavioral therapy (identifying negative thought patterns and learning tools to change these patterns).
WHO I WORK WITH-
While I’ve loved having the experience working with people from all walks of life, my practice now focuses more on adults aged 18-50.
In working with someone brand new to therapy, the initial self discovery in the sorting through of experiences and relationships is an especially rewarding time. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned client, I find there are always new avenues to explore and perspectives to gain in telling your story. My other areas of interest and specialization are in grief work, family and child development, and sibling work.

This is an exciting time with many changes, but it can be challenging to feel that hopefulness and sense of possibility when it also feels overwhelming or paralyzing with what’s next. There may be enormous social changes, career shifts, and it may be the first time living out of or away from the immediate family bubble.
-
Common issues I treat in adults are related to:
- life’s transitions (career, children, aging parents, etc),
-early childhood trauma,
-coping with present challenging familial relationships,
and the working with the emotional output of all that - anxiety, anger, depression, or a feeling of being frozen in all of it.
Creating art and talking about these things will create a possibility for new methods of coping and self compassion and understanding,

I work with children in-person in Colorado only at this time. Virtual therapy is not the best modality for this age group and the parent sessions are an important factor as well. I utilize Play and Art Therapy techniques as this is the language of children. Typical presenting issues could include frequent emotional outbursts, difficulty with transitions, school or sibling drama, grief work and familial dynamics. Parents remain integral part of the child’s therapy process.
